The 3-day writing weekend
Friday to Sunday
22 — 24 September
Rock your weekend with daily group writing sessions held on Zoom.
It’s a weekend writing sprint.
Each daily session is a combination of group coaching + time to write independently. In the group time I troubleshoot challenges presented by participants, and teach skills to support your writing beyond the course. I also give warm-up tasks that support ease and productivity.
During the quiet writing time, I’m available for private 1:1 conversation on specific writing issues.
Participants find the format effective because it’s a scheduled commitment. The group provides accountability and support. Writing issues and questions can be resolved quickly.
Join 1, 2 or all 3 sessions; choose from a single or full weekend pass.
Sessions are held on Zoom, and kick off at 13:00 Helsinki time / 8pm Sydney time (check your time zone here).
They run for 2 hours.
The COST:
37€ gives you access to every session held during the 3-day weekend (or 59 AUD / 31 GBP).
18€ gives you a single session pass (or 29 AUD / 15 GBP)
You can pay in Australian dollars or British pounds if you prefer — contact me to arrange.
Good to KNOW:
Sessions always include group coaching + a couple of stretches + quiet writing time. They often include other various elements.
Sessions are informal, warm-hearted, and the dress code welcomes pyjamas at any time of day.
I facilitate to keep the group on track, and on time. I mean, it’s informal yes, but not totally lawless!
No one else reads your writing, it’s just for you.
You don’t even need to be writing — it suits editing and reading perfectly too. Some participants have had great success with coding during these sessions, and the framework could easily support other activities.
What to BRING:
your writing project
your beverage of choice
pen and paper
any attitudes or moods you’re currently feeling towards your writing (positive, negative — it’s all welcome)
Ready?

Highly recommended! I have attended the online sessions (& the residential events before) and they are extremely effective, no matter your writing project. Use it to keep yourself motivated in the company of others. Jess is professional and has some great techniques to help you along the way. Make yourself a priority in this current chaotic world.

A facilitator doesn’t do for you, but shows how. Jess is calm, confident, competent, warm, and happy to be here.

Thank you for the inspirational course Jessie!
This was probably the best and most productive/useful course I've had during my doctoral studies. I will definitely tape the schedule you gave to us during the first session to my office wall to remind me how I should plan my writing days in future!
