The 8-day writing week

Wednesday to Wednesday
18 — 25 October

Daily group writing sessions held on Zoom.

If you’re wanting a buzz of writing activity, here it is.,,

Each daily session is a combination of group coaching + time to write independently. In the group time I troubleshoot challenges presented by participants, and teach skills to support your writing. I also give warm-up tasks that support ease and productivity.

During the quiet writing time, I’m available for private 1:1 conversation on specific writing issues.

Participants find the format effective because it’s a scheduled commitment. The group provides accountability and support. Writing issues and questions can be resolved quickly.

Join for a single session (or two or three…) or dive in for the full week pass.

The sessions deliver a zap to your writing project, giving:

  • a great foundation for the next part of the year,

  • a catch-up on anything languishing on your To Do list, and/or

  • a chance to dive into something totally different with your writing.

Sessions are held on Zoom, and kick off at 13:00 Helsinki time / 8pm Brisbane time (check your time zone here).
They run for 2 hours.

Good to KNOW:

  • Sessions always include group coaching + stretches + quiet writing time. They often include other various elements.

  • Sessions are informal, warm-hearted, and the dress code welcomes pyjamas at any time of day.

  • I facilitate to keep the group on track and on time. I mean, it’s informal yes, but not totally lawless!

  • No one else reads your writing, it’s just for you.

  • You don’t even need to be writing — the format suits editing, reading, coding and other focused work perfectly too.

What to BRING:

  • your writing project

  • your beverage of choice

  • pen and paper

  • any attitudes or moods you’re currently feeling towards your writing (positive, negative — it’s all welcome)

The COST:

  • 87€ gives you access to every session held during the 8-day week (or 135 AUD / 74 GBP).

  • 18€ gives you a single session pass (or 29 AUD / 15 GBP)

  • You can pay in Australian dollars or British pounds if you prefer — contact me to arrange.

If you’re keen for focused project time, with community support, and on-tap advice and guidance from a seasoned editor and writing coach… then get yourself registered, and let’s write.

  • Not for this series. It’s a “you just had to be there” kind of thing.

What others have said about MY writing sessions…

I really, really got a lot from today’s session — I was so taken with your holistic approach and the empathy and curiosity with which you treated every participant and their writing issues. It was truly inspiring.
— Lucy

These sessions were so good that they count as cognitive behavioral therapy.

Highly recommended! I have attended the online sessions (& the residential events before) and they are extremely effective, no matter your writing project. Use it to keep yourself motivated in the company of others. Jess is professional and has some great techniques to help you along the way. Make yourself a priority in this current chaotic world.
— Nathalie

A facilitator doesn’t do for you, but shows how. Jess is calm, confident, competent, warm, and happy to be here.

Thank you for the inspirational course Jessie!
This was probably the best and most productive/useful course I've had during my doctoral studies. I will definitely tape the schedule you gave to us during the first session to my office wall to remind me how I should plan my writing days in future!
